About A Quiet Space

A Quiet Space is the new image and spirit of the former Movement Therapy Arts.

The practice itself was founded in 2018 and has a long-standing commitment to clinical service, research, advocacy, and education in the fields of grief counseling and medical dance/movement therapy.

The birth of A Quiet Space came from a deepening desire to provide full-spectrum support for medical complexities, life transitions, death and grief. A Quiet Space integrates the clinical offerings of community education, health care collaboration, support groups, and death doulaship. This is all in addition to the foundation of holistic, mind-body centered counseling.

Philosophy and Approach

I view my work as supporting bodies in transition - in whatever form that comes.

A Quiet Space was created to address the needs of the whole person and find creative approaches to authentic grief expression, memorialization, and end of life care. This work draws on both clinical training and community wisdom.

The idea of looking towards end-of-life and death care can feel vulnerable and overwhelming. I use a compassionate, collaborative approach that taps into individual values, personality, traditions, and strengths while offering authenticity and curiosity. I honor each person's experiences as meaningful, powerful, and valuable - and wholly theirs. My approach is tailored to you, exploring what creates your safe, meaningful space.

As a dancer, dance/movement therapist, and death doula I believe in the deep meaning that can be found through creative expression and ritual in end of life. Movement rituals and embodied memorials, care environments laced with creativity, and uniquely expressed legacy projects are a valued strength of A Quiet Space.
